How to Make Mind Map?
In my prior postings, I introduce some examples of mind maps. We can find that mind map can be applied to many areas. Well, how to make a mind map? Take a look at the followiing video, it teaches us how to make mink map through an example “Writing an Essay”. After watching the video, I try to draw a mind map of my schedule next week, I hope it could help me arrange my time better. What do you think of it? I suggest you have a try! “Easy, very easy!”

Hi Yan,
I hope you had a nice week. The Youtube video was very helpful for understanding the basic steps of how to construct a mind map. I am not sure I agree with step # 6,Use one word per line, same length as the line. I was taught that the link was the most important part of creating a concept map, therefore it should not be limited to one word. It demonstrates your understanding of how the concept is linked to the node. The better one is able to describe the relationship between the link and the node the better one understands the topic in the center of the landscape page. Does this make any sense?
Cheers!
Ashley
Hi Yan,
If nothing else, mindmaps are certainly pleasing to look at. The colors and designs draw the viewer in.
Educationally, this is a powerful idea as far as helping students remember information. They may remember the 'blue thread, fourth bullet down, had taxation without representation as an issue causing rebelion in the colonies.
Ashley, I agree that the 'rules' of mindmapping are too specific. We certainly should make the idea work to fit a learning situation.
